Rest assured that many couples will be able to keep their wedding date and plans moving forward with slight adjustments, but for those looking for options particularly for Autumn 2020; below are the three trending wedding revisions.
For most couples, celebrating their love with friends and family is a top priority in their wedding vision. From capturing the impromptu dance with your favorite cousin to walking down the aisle and feeling your loved ones surrounding you, a full size wedding is your plan.
We are currently in what I like to call the Summer Gap. Officials are stating that Phase One of the pandemic is still currently active, and Allegheny country has moved back into restrictions, i.e. no alcohol consumption for eat-in restaurants. Summer weddings are a go as of right now with masks and slight restrictions. We do not know how long this will last and how Autumn will be affected by Phase One or a second phase of the pandemic.
Rescheduling to 2021 is a great option, and it's wise to have a back up plan or two even for the autumnal months of 2020. A back up plan doesn't necessarily mean rescheduling. It can also include a revised guest list and other considerations. We've worked with couples through the spring and summer who have had up to three back up dates and multiple venue options in line just in case. We'll be in Virginia and neighboring states with our brides as they have found new venues that are just perfect for their updated vision. I'd recommending putting you and your fiance first by knowing your options in advance.
Flower Power: If you are rescheduling your full wedding due to Covid concerns, we are with you. Your deposit is completely transferable to your new celebration date. We will do everything in our power to accommodate your new date including hiring extra staff to make sure your wedding day is perfect.
Wondering how we can help even more?
Your design is artistically open until 30 days prior to your event. That means we are able to revamp or create a new design for your season or style. Rescheduling to Autumn or next year? Tastes change, vibes change, and seasonal decor may be really important to you artistically. We are here to redesign and help you through.
*If you are changing directions or are in a holding phase, we do recommend talking with a wedding planner for non-floral elements. Some wedding planners are even offering one hour consultations to guide you through the pandemic and offer some industry insight into this new way of planning. It's a lot to consider, and they are experts at this!
You may have heard this referred to as intimate, micro, elopement, backyard, or pop-up. By definition, most of those descriptions aren't exactly correct but an aspect of them is accurate. And, that's okay. At this time they are all referring to the same idea of the intimate or micro wedding. Essentially, this is the idea of having 25 or less guests at your wedding. Most of these modified weddings are being held at private residences or parks. These types of events are either pre-planned or semi-spur of the moment. Looking forward to the summer, lots of venues and most vendors are now offering some sort of intimate wedding package. It is up to your venue to determine their allowance for guest count limits or if they are cancelling all events for the remainder of the year. When planning for an intimate wedding, some vendors will have terms regarding how many guests are considered "intimate" due to the nature of their work. As a speciality floral design company, we don't place restrictions on what you would like designed. Your item selection will be redesign within your package and minimum.
Flower Power: We can create beauty for you at any location. Inside of your home, your backyard, an Air BnB rental, intimate to large venues... Beauty travels and can be installed anywhere. The most important thing to us is that you are happy and feel surrounded by love on your big day.
If you are a current Honey Bunch couple and are considering the idea of switching over to an intimate ceremony as the days progress, please let us know as soon as you are able. We'll talk through the options of redesigning your present design for a ceremony focused floral-scape that you can enjoy for years to come through your photos and memories.

Marry Now, Party Later
This may just be the best of both worlds. Your wedding date has been a part of your life now for a while and so has your commitment. Lots of couples are deciding to reschedule with their guests, venue, and vendors to marry on their current wedding date and celebrate in person with their friends and family later this year or next. I love this option! You are able to have the intimacy of your very special wedding while knowing you will have a blast (... and maybe another dress/suit!) when everyone feels safe to celebrate your journey and commitment!
Flower Power: We are happy to coordinate with you to design a lot or a little touch of flowers for your intimate wedding and plan the party of your dreams in the months to come. You can create multiple themes like family, personal interests, or seasonsal or have unified design plan for both intimate ceremony + your reception to come. Again, your deposit is completely transferable, and we can talk through all of the logistics, planning, and work with your original budget goals.
Certainly moving forward there are many people who will be willing, able, and ecstatic to celebrate. While we won't be certain until things progress what limitations on guest count and social distancing will be, we are here with you to navigate and provide flexibility within your design.
There is lots of talk from industry professionals on the new trends about to emerge due to social distancing. The honest truth is that no one can be certain. Regarding regulations, everything could go right back to "normal" with events and functions. No matter how things progress, we will be creative within any environment and embrace change and safety. This day is about your love... and that can be experienced and look any way you choose. Below is the main consideration for florals for 2020 and beyond with pandemic layouts for full size weddings.
Depending upon the new social distancing guidelines, venues may be required to offer different types of layouts than we've ever been accustom to... While we can't be certain yet, this would mainly be sectioning areas to limit mass groupings from table set up to micro dance floors ...yes that's an "s" on dance floors. And this could all be temporary. Time will let us know.
Flower Power: I always say that each accent table (gifts, photo booth, sign-in table, doughnut bar...) is an activity for your guest and acts as a piece of entertainment! Designating "areas" staged with florals and decor is the perfect way to have your function flow cohesively. We can definitely plan for stylized centerpieces and creatively cohesive layouts.
